Abstract
This quasi-experimental, control group, co-relational and factorial study explored the construct validity of the TECRI Test (Creativity and Innovation Exploratory Test) as a measurement and evaluation instrument of the creative potencial. The study enquiries into the underlying factors or dimensions in the test from a divergent thinking approach. 270 Kinder, 1st and 2nd Elementary School student from 4 Municipal Corporation schools in Quilpué and Valparaíso participated. They had also been involved in the 2009 Innovation Proyect "Start Reading in Kinder, Better". The sample was non probability, with randomly assigned treatment. Measurements were performed during August and November in the second term of 2009. Instruments considered tests to measure Creativity, Pre-Reading, Academic performance (Spelling writting, Reading and Vocabulary fluency), student's Intelligence and Socio economic level. The Categorical Principal Components Analysis was used to explore the dimensions in the test. And aptitude and an attitude dimension within the creative potencial were identified, which may consistently explain the scale variance. Hence, it was concluded that TECRI is a suitable test to measure and evaluate the creative potencial from divergent thinking approach.
